Silicone Render
What is it?
Silicone render is a pre coloured external render which is available in over 200 colours. In our opinion, the silicone render is the best render system available. Its super durable and flexible material is guaranteed not to crack and will stand the test of time. It is also non-porous and so does not stain, unlike the first pre coloured render (Monocouche) which we have found to be very porous leaving dirt stains.
How do we apply it?
The silicone system consists of stabilising the background (block/brick work or original painted render), applying a fiberglass mesh with a first layer of base coat then applying a second base coat and sponging up. Once dry, a primer is applied, then a 1.5 mm silicone top coat is applied and floated to a finished effect.
Benefits of choosing a Silicone Render…
- The silicone render system provides a low maintenance way of keeping your house looking fresh.
- Uses silicone technology to deliver a weather-proof coating and a natural finish.
- A great product for facades that are hard hit by all the elements or seafront properties.
- Guaranteed not to crack.
- Comes in over 200 colours (patch colour samples can viewed here).
- Can be applied over original render or brickwork.
- The silicone render system is compatible with external insulation render boards.
Traditional Sand and Cement
What is it?
A traditional render finish using sand and cement with water-proofing chemicals.
Why choose traditional sand and cement?
- Traditional sand and cement renders are cheaper than other render systems due to the relatively inexpensive materials used.
- Two finishes are available with sand and cement render; stipple or smooth.
- Can be painted in your choice of colour.
- Can be applied over original render and/or brick/block work.
Insulated render
What is an insulated render?
Insulated render is a render system that provides insulation from the exterior, with no need to disrupt any internal walls. We use boards that range from 20mm to 100 mm in thickness depending on the depths and gauges of the building and finish off with a silicone render.
Why choose an insulated render?
- As the insulation boards get stuck and plugged on the outside of your house, there is no disruption caused to the inside of your home.
- Insulation boards can be applied in different thicknesses depending on the depths and gauges of the building and addressing problem walls, for example North facing walls.
- The insulated render system keeps the warmth in your home, preventing heat from escaping through the walls.
- The insulated render system could significantly reduce your heating bills through retaining heat in the home.
- It will also increase your property’s energy efficiency rating, which is particularly significant for landlords or those seeking to sell their property.
FAQ
Common Questions
How Many Different Colours Available:
Over 200 available with a wider range of colours available on request; It is also possible to match most standard colour systems. Please note that non standrad, bespoke collour systems may be subject to extended lead times and associated surcharges.
How Long Will It Take To Render My Whole House:
Much of this is dependent on what render system is applied and the weather conditions in that area. Our average lead time for most properties is approximately 2-3 weeks for a full silicone render system.
Does Rendering Your House Add Value:
Rendering your property can potentially add value to it’s market rate. This is because of the demonstrable increase in the property’s external aesthetic appeal on first appearances together with the appeal of low maintenance external render.
Why is Silicone Render Better Than Any Other Render Product:
It is super flexible, hydrophobic (self cleaning), water repellant, low maintenance, allows the structure to breath with a natural looking finish and vast colour range. It is also a material that can be used in conjunction with EW1 External Wall Insulation.
Can You Apply Silicone Render Over Existing Render:
In short, yes. This would be dependent on checking the condition and quality of the existing render, this can then be stabilized and silicone rendered.
What Suppliers Do You Use For Your Acrylic / Silicone EWI's:

Sample Swatches
With over 200+ colours to choose from; The most popular off-white colour choices are WH77/WH76/WH82/WH89. The varying shades of grey are also very popular amongst our clients, these include; CG56/WG41/CG28/WG23. We have also completed projects where x2 differing colours have been used to reflect trim and brand identity. We always recommend seeing such colour choices in-situ on completed projects locally, if possible, this is because, due to the production process the paper colour samples may show slight differences when compared to the actual product when applied to surfaces in-situ. It is only possible to accurately compare colours that have been applied on identical backgrounds/surface materials.
Possible nonconformity in raw materials may result in very slight colour differences when seen by the naked eye, in varying light conditions.
A bespoke colour matching service is available on request whereby it is possible to match most standard colour systems with bespoke colour renders above the ordinarily available for additional cost. It should be noted that whilst we endeavour to match all shades and colours upon request, non standard colours may be subject to extended lead times and surcharges.
